Ryan Tannehill is now 3-0 as starter, but this one was all about Cyrus Gray , who scored three of his four touchdowns in the second half. The Texas A&M Aggies defense also saved its best football for the second half, combining to beat Baylor 42-30 , aided by scoring the game’s final 28 points. The defense gave up 30 first-half points and trailed 30-14 at one point in the first half. Without forcing a turnover, Texas A&M pitched a shutout over the game’s final 36 minutes, including a blocked field goal that was nearly returned for a touchdown at the end of the half. Texas A&M moves to 7-3 and 4-2 in the Big 12, but still need Oklahoma State to lose to Kansas and Oklahoma to win the South. Don’t count on either of those things happening, but Texas A&M has rescued its season after a 3-3 start that hit rock bottom with a 30-9 home loss to Missouri.

Texas Tech’s offense marched 35 yards on its opening drive, but the drive finished with a blocked field goal. Chalk it up to poor blocking if you’d like, but SMU blocked nine kicks last season . Looks like June Jones’ spread mixes in a little bit of Beamerball, too. And as for the Red Raiders oft-mentioned run-pass ratio: eight passes, three runs. Several of the passes were short looks to the flats, an extension of the run game, but Texas Tech has yet to move under center.
