His impact was immediate as ESPNU 150 defensive end Torshiro Davis (Shreveport, La./Woodlawn) signed with Texas on signing day instead of LSU, where he had been a longtime commit.

LONGHORNS Wilcox Big 12 Swimmer of the Week Jackson Wilcox, who helped lead the Longhorns to a 161-131 dual meet victory on the road against Auburn by winning the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events, was named the Big 12 Swimmer of the Week, giving Texas the honor in five of the six weeks in 2011-12.

The 55th Men’s Hall of Honor class is to be inducted on Friday, Nov. 18. Pat Fitzgerald was a two-time academic All-American and was drafted into the NFL.
