It took the World more than two games to take their first lead over the US in an International Bowl, but went on a resounding run that buried the United States, leading to a 35-29 World victory, the first for the international squad in the history of the event.

A scan of the box scores always reveals statistical oddities and under-the-radar performances. Here are some we found from Saturday’s games: Kansas 69, Texas 66 Texas guard J’Covan Brown shot 7-of-26 (27 percent) from the field after going 8-of-28 (29 percent) in his previous outing. This season, 18 different players have taken at least 26 shots in a game, but Brown is the first to do it twice. He’s also had the two worst shooting performances of those players.

AUSTIN, Texas — At a time when a team, even a young one like Texas, should be hitting its stride, the Longhorns (12-5, 2-2) are hitting the wall . And to make matters worse, the players are not hitting shots. Or even taking the right ones for that matter. In the last three games, the Texas offense has averaged 64 points per game — 12 below its average — shot 33 percent in the first halves and started games glacially slow — averaging just 13 points in the first 10 minutes of each game.
