WACO, Texas — Here are a few thoughts after a 68-54 victory by No. 10 Kansas at sixth-ranked Baylor … Overview: Baylor desperately wants to be considered a top-10 team. It has the players and the voter-supported ranking. What it doesn’t have is the monumental victories it takes to legitimize the program. And that didn’t change Wednesday night. Tenth-ranked Kansas (19-5, 9-2 Big 12) came into the Ferrell Center and easily dispatched the No. 6 Bears.

UCLA’s Jim Mora signs 25

New UCLA coach Jim Mora signed a class of 25 on Wednesday, and it appears his first recruiting haul will rank among the nation’s top 20. Fifteen of the players are from California, two each in the states of Texas, Georgia and Arizona, and one from Delaware, Hawaii, New York, New Jersey and Florida. The class includes a junior college transfer, one who signed in December and will attend school in the spring. Four recruits were part of the ESPNU 150.

New Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez signed 23 players on Wednesday, though he said additional players may be added in the next weeks during the signing period or beyond. Prospects from eight states across five time zones signed, with 10 offensive players, nine on defense and three listed as athletes at the onset of their careers. The group includes six players from high schools in Arizona, five from California, three from Florida, three from Texas, three from Pennsylvania and one each from Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Hawaii.

Cowboys’ lone ESPNU 150 signee is official

Oklahoma State has avoided any major surprises on Wednesday, but got welcome news when its top recruit, Dominic Ramacher, faxed in his letter of intent just before 9 a.m. local time, the school announced. Ramacher is the nation’s No. 3 tight end and No. 126 on the ESPNU 150. The Denton (Texas) Guyer star joins two of his former teammates as highly-recruited stars to make the move from Denton to Stillwater. Quarterback J.W. Walsh and receiver Josh Stewart just finished their freshman seasons for the Cowboys, who won the Big 12 title.
